Exclamation Battle Areana Rules ... Revised

Battle Arena rules

This is the place to decide who would win in any type of contest, not only fights.

If your character appears in more than one type of media, you will need to say which type the thread is about in your first post. This will resolve whether its a cannon debate or not.

1. Burden of Proof – This concept is that. If you make a positive statement, you are now the basis of providing that fact. You cannot tell the other person to “prove” something (Shifting the burden of proof, a fallacy), as you are the one who made the positive claim, as a person who made the negative claim doesn’t have to prove anything.

For example:
  • Person A: Goku can travel faster than the speed of light and can bust galaxies! (Positive)
  • Person B: I don’t think so (Negative); I would like you to prove that.
  • Person A: No, You prove it! (Shifting the Burden of Proof to Person B)
  • Person B: I didn’t make the claim, you did. You’re obligated to prove your statements.

Any form of evidence can be use if it is credible, reliable and makes sense. All parties have to agree that the proof is sound. And in the case where there can't be an agreement, see one of the Mediators (Negative or Jcoss Minato) or ask a staff member.

2. Always respect others opinions even when proof is provided. You don't have to agree with someone's opinion but at least respect it.

3. Do not leave one liners. State your reasoning of why X beats Y.

4. No God-modding! The Character's abilities are what the creators gave them, shown, and/or otherwise.

5. No spite threads. These are made in response to a character/verse a poster likes being defeated in a match, so they put the one that defeated them up against a much stronger opponent in order to get revenge on them.

For example:

Goku defeats Narutoverse in one thread.

So a user decides to created a new thread, using a much stronger character, such as Superman in Goku vs Superman. That is called spite.

Members also created spite threads (in some cases), because simply they don't like the characters and want to antagonize the fans of whatever series.

6. No trolling. Trolling is when someone posts inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic posts with the primary intent of provoking other members into an emotional response or otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.

7. AF's Forum rules and guidelines applies in this section just as it does in every other section of the board.

8. Please read the General Assumptions, A Excellent Debate - Learning the Terms and Logical Fallacies – Learn and Avoid Them! threads to use to build your Battle Arena thread.
