Default Random88 Anime Review 8: Kimi ga Nozomu Eien

Kimi ga Nozomu Eien

Year of Release: 2003
Genres: Drama, Romance, Tragedy
Episodes: 14

Plot
The plot of the show revolves around Takayuki Narumi, a typical 3rd High school student who begins a relationship with Haruka Suzumiya, a shy timid girl who managed to confess and date Takayuki with the help of her best friend Mitsuki Hayase. As the relationship between Takayuki and Haruka develop tragedy strikes. Haruka is involved in an accident and falls into a coma. Takayuki and Mitsuki both blame themselves as the incident happened while Haruka was waiting for Takayuki to arrive for a date he was late for. Three years later, Takayuki is dating Mitsuki and Haruka awakes from Her coma.

Animation, Characters and Sound
The animation is good. The characters are all distinct. The waitresses at the family restaurant provide comic relief, which is a nice breather from the serious drama involving the main cast. The opening song is quite catchy and the background music fits the mood of the show very well.

Overall thoughts and Verdict
The show is very dramatic, while there are a few bits of comedy in the show the overall tone is a serious one. The show deals with post traumatic stress disorder, amnesia, betrayal, adultery, sacrifice and broken dreams. There is also some nudity. If your looking for a show that shows a love triangle in a serious and dramatic fashion. Then this is something you should definitely watch.

8/10
