Hello, animeforum.org.uk user!
This Privacy Policy is where we explain to you what information is collected when you’re using animeforum.org.uk, how it is collected, how we use that information, where we store it, and how we protect it. We will also explain your rights in relation to the information. Like with our User Agreement, we've put together both a full text version and a (non-legally binding) summary version to make things simple. 1.1. We are animeforum.or.uk., a nonprofit anime forum based in Europe!
2.1 This Privacy Policy applies to www. animeforum.or.uk, your animeforum.or.uk user account, the, the animeforum.or.uk web forums and any donations you may make to animeforum.or.uk.
This Privacy Policy explains the different kinds of information we collect from you when you're using animeforum.or.uk to help make them work. We will comply with applicable privacy laws.
2.2 Specifically, this Privacy Policy governs personal information and non-personal information which we collect from you when you're using our services. ("Personal information" means information which, on its own or in combination with other information, can be used to identify you).
2.3 We respect your right to privacy and will only process personal information in accordance with applicable data protection legislation in the EU, the USA (including the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) and elsewhere.
We will comply with applicable data protection laws. This involves us being responsible for personal data which we use in connection with our services and equally our Partners (see opposite) will be responsible for personal data which they use in connection with animeforum.org.uk
2.4 animeforum.org.uk does not work with any partners and will not pass your personal information on to any third parties other than payment providers for donations namely paypal.
2.5 For personal information contained in this Privacy Policy which is used by animeforum.org.uk, animeforum.org.uk is the data controller under European Union data protection legislation. For personal information contained in this Privacy Policy which is used by our Partners in connection with animeforum.org.uk, then the relevant partner(s) will be the data controller under European Union data protection legislation.
3.1 We recognise we have a special obligation to protect personal information obtained from children. Legally, children below 13 cannot have a animeforum.or.uk account (but their parents/guardians are welcome to sign up themselves) and we do not and will not knowingly collect personal information from any child under the age of 13 without consent from their parent or guardian. Children below 13 cannot have animeforum.org.uk accounts without parental/guardian involvement and we cannot collect knowingly personal information about them – this is actually a legal requirement.
4.1 When you register a animeforum.org.uk account with us, you will need to provide us: (a) your username (This should be an alias or nickname and not identify you); (b) your email address and (c) a password (which is encrypted so that we don’t have access to it). In your animeforum.org.uk account settings you can also set your date of birth which can be protected by your chosen settings. This information will be protected by your GOG account password. You are responsible for keeping it safe - please don't share it with anyone. You can also chose to include your, gender and sex. country and language/s but this is optional and your choice if you consent. If you wish to remove this information at any time you can do so from your user control panel.

5.1 We may collect, process and use information about you in the following ways (either directly or via our Partners as explained above): (a) information you give us via animeforum.org.uk services; (b) information given when you contact us or report a problem or complaint or address a complaint with animeforum.org.uk; and (c) we may also collect information via things like surveys or polls.

7.1 All information you provide to us is stored on our secure servers or those of our trusted partner services i.e paypal if you donate.. We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised or unlawful processing, accidental loss, destruction or damage. Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the Internet is not completely secure. We will do our best to protect your personal information, but we cannot guarantee 100% security of your data transmitted to our servers; any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security to prevent unauthorised access to our servers

8.1 We will use the above information in the following ways:
(a) To enable animeforum.org.uk functionality that helps you and your friends keep updated about what you’re doing within animeforum.org.uk services, e.g. notifying you and your animeforum.org.uk friends about who is online, posting and in what threads.
(b) To ensure that animeforum.org.uk services are presented in the most effective manner for you and for your computer or other device from which you access animeforum.org.uk services.

10.1 Please be aware that we are subject to various laws and we may be required to release personal information to comply with law enforcement or other legal requirements.
We might be required to comply with law enforcement requests.
11.1 You have the right to withdraw your consent for processing of your personal information at any time. You can change your email settings within your animeforum.org.uk account and email communications from animeforum.org.uk to you will contain an opt-out/unsubscribe option.
You have rights about how your personal information is used. Any questions, please contact us
11.2 Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights. For example, in the EU you have the right to access information held about you and you may also contact us to request that we delete your personal information from our system; and you may have the legal right to ask us to rectify/correct your personal information if appropriate. We will use commercially reasonable efforts to honour your request, but we may decline requests that are unreasonably repetitive, are disproportionate or infringe the privacy of others. Of course, you will be notified in advance.
You may have additional privacy rights (see opposite).
12.1 We may change this Privacy Policy if we think it's necessary, e.g. for legal reasons or to reflect changes in animeforum.org.uk services. If so, we will make the changed Privacy Policy available online and (if you have a animeforum.org.uk account) we'll email you to explain the changes.
We can change this Privacy Policy but if we do we will put the changed version online and normally it will take effect 30 days afterwards.
