Default Teachers spying on students - Invasion of Privacy?

I heard a news about Teachers giving away laptop to students in order for them to do their work, but turns out that teachers are watching them through webcam. I didn't think about making a thread about this, but seeing a video on youtube, I've decided to make a thread and talk about how members react.

I put this in the Political Discussion because I find this as a Invasion of

Is it right for teacher to watch the students through webcams?
Is it an invasion of privacy?
Are spying technologies expanding and improving as year goes on? Are "invasion of privacy" increasing?

The laptop (free laptop that is...) are given to students so that they can do their work, but what the students did not know is that they are being spied by teacher. I believed the teacher is messaging students to do their work, or that what I think the laptop is for.

Spying on students may be invasion of privacy, but possible explicit nudity result in child pornography.

Even though this is in one school, it said that the principle perhaps have been testing if this technology work, which is a complete success. So another topic, is invasion of privacy on the rise? When I heard China installed firewall on every computers at China, I found it as a fearsome terror if China were to spy on everyone at China.

School Cyber-Spies on Students

BBC News - US school accused of web spying: - School used student laptop webcams to spy on them at school and home:

In conclusion: It said the webcam was activated because someone stole the laptop so they can catch the thief, but in my opinion, they already had a device that can spy on students. We all should agree that 100% of the teachers and administrators are not good. I think if they want to prevent laptop from being stolen illegally, they should put an alarm device in the laptop, and if driven out, it will start the alarm (something like that).

Note: Please excuse any grammar/puncuation error in my posts/threads.
